Creme Brûlée – It’s so simple!
We’ve been making Ina Garten’s Creme Brûlée recipe for years. It’s my husband’s favorite, and a fantastic recipe if you are looking for something gluten free. You can make these ahead, and caramelize the sugar just before serving. We do have a propane torch to caramelize the sugar in the final step, but you can also place them under the broiler.
We have only strayed from the recipe once or twice, adding Amaretto in place of Grand Marnier, or leaving out the Grand Marnier if we don’t have it on hand, but we always find ourselves coming back to the original. When it’s time to prepare this five ingredient dessert, my husband and daughter lead the charge, and they follow the directions to the letter, proclaiming every time … “It’s so good, and it’s so simple”!
